Sam Curran turned into the most costly player in IPL history

According to Indian media, IPL franchise Punjab Kings surprised everyone by buying English fast bowler Sam Curran for 18.5 crore Indian rupees for the 2023 edition.

Sam Curran, who recently won the T20 World Cup Player of the Year award in Australia, fetched the highest price at an auction in Kochi, India. Sam Karan has also played for Chennai Super Kings and PBKS before Punjab Kings but has been associated with Punjab Kings since 2019.

Sam Curran broke the record of South African all-rounder Chris Morris who was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for INR 165 crore. The English fast bowler has taken 32 wickets in 32 matches in IPL so far and he has also played many good innings while batting while playing for Chennai Super Kings and he has scored 995 runs in 32 matches.

Soon after Sam Karan, Mumbai Indians stunned everyone by buying Australian all-rounder Cameron Greene for INR 17.5 crore. Apart from this, Chennai Super Kings bought English all-rounder Ben Stokes for INR 16.25 million.
